静かなお盆 2020
今年のお盆は実に静かだった．孫や甥っ子、姪っ子がベランダのプールではしゃぐことも花火に興じることもなかった．住職からは玄関先で立ったまま読経するので玄関の上がり口に祭壇をつくるように言われた．新型コロナにより二人だけのお盆であった．

Obon (returning ancestral spirits) in the stillness, 2020
My masters conducted the Obon festival themselves. It was done in the stillness. Grandchildren, nephews and nieces did not come to their house this year. They did pool play in the daytime at their veranda and had fun of fireworks at night last year. So it was very quiet.
The chief priest said, “ I will chanted sutra with standing at the door to keep social distance”. So my masters made the altar in the main entrance.
Obon: It is a traditional Japanese event and the time of year when the souls of ancesters come back to visit us. When they visit, they hurries horseback. They return on cows slowly. In Shinshu, Kamba (the white birch bark) was burned to make both Mukaebi and Okuribi.
