I, Nekojiro, lived in Matsumoto in Shinshu for 18 years, but I had not the memory that temperature exceeded 30 degrees during the lifetime. Today's highest outside temperature was 35 degrees, humidity 40%. My master seemed to be surprised that the temperature of the place in the porch of the second floor where direct rays of the sun was reached approximately 40 degrees.
我猫ジローも18年間信州の松本に生活していたが、生存中に気温が３０度を越したという記憶はない。ところが、今日の最高外気温は35度、湿度40％であった。二階のベランダで直射日光が当たるところではほぼ40度。とにかく暑いと主人は根を上げている。

Nekojiro’s master murmurs that the entry word of the newspaper became the more intense heat from the intense heat. Shinshu is full of people demanding cool air from the big cities for this time period. In this year, we have no cool feel in Shinshu. So, he wants to send the cool with a photographs at least.
新聞の見出しは猛暑から酷暑になったと我猫ジローの主人は呟く。例年この時期は都会から涼をもとめて来る人々で信州は賑わうが、その清涼感が今の信州にはない。せめて写真で涼しさを届けたいという。
梅雨晴れに八方池まで登った。冬にはその存在を忘れられていた天空の池も雪解けが始まりにより徐々にその姿を現し始めた。夏には池の西側から対岸に白馬三山と湖面に映る逆白馬三山を見ることが出来るが、この時期は池の周りにロープが張られ進入禁止となっていてそのポイントに近づくことが出来なかったという。ただ、雪解けは1割程度であった事から主人はいつもの撮影ポイントに行っても逆白馬三山を見ることは出来ないだろうと考えたようだ．夏には撮影したことがなかった池の南側に廻ってみると今までに見たことがない景色に驚ろかされたという。残雪の彼方に白馬三山に連なる不帰ノ嶮を見ることが出来きその新鮮さに主人はカメラをセットした。八方池周辺は高山植物の宝庫で夏には百花繚乱の景色を楽しむことが出来ると言うが、まだその時期ではない．高山植物を楽しむのはもう少し後かなと思いながら下山し、下山途中に開花して間もないと思われるミネウスユキソウを見つけたときにはたいそう感激した様子だった。

Jiro’s master found the big tree of the rhododendron arboretum in the botanical garden, and so he exulted. The rhododendron arboretum in the Northern Alps is small-sized, and not so much number of the flowers. The rhododendron arboretum in the botanical garden did not look inferior to trees, which my master watched in the Himalayas.
The rhododendron arboretum is drawn to the Nepalese national emblem. My master admired it for a wife during remembering time when he trekked in the “Everest roadway” with his wife four years ago in Nepal.
植物園で石南花の大木を見つけ猫ジローの主人は小躍りした。北アルプスで見るラリグラスは小ぶりで花数もそれほど多くない。植物園で見たラリグラスはヒマラヤで見た大木に見劣りしないものであったという。
ラリグラスはシャクナゲの一種でネパールの国花で国章に描かれている。ネパールでラリグラスを見たいと奥さんと4年前にエベレスト街道をルクラからナムチェバザールを経由してクムジュンまでラリグラスを求めてトレッキングした時のことを思い出しながらしばし見とれていた。
