＜スイスハイキング 10＞ 　帰国の朝モンブラン山系は微笑んでくれた。日本を発つ直前まで天候をチェックしあまりにも天気予報が悪いので、今回のハイキングはせめて雨のなければ有難いと思って出かけてきた主人達だが、幸運にもマッターホルン、 アイガー、ユングフラウ、モンブランを堪能できたと我猫ジローに感謝しているようだ。

The Mont Blanc Range smiled in morning of the return home. My, Nekojiro’s master, checked weather frequently until just before leaving Japan. A weather forecast was very bad, it was difficute to find a fine day during this journey. They thought that it was lucky if not dumped in the rain. Fortunately they were able to thoroughly enjoy to see the Matterhorn, the Eiger, Jungfrau and Mont Blanc. They seem to thank me, Nekojiro.

＜スイスハイキング 9＞ 　御神酒の効果なく午前は雨がいつ来てもおかしくない天候だった。朝のニュースでは、フランスとスイスの国境沿いでは大洪水で車が流されフランス南部では乾燥による山火事が報じられた。プランプラからフレジュールまでのモンブラン眺望ハイキングのためにブレバン展望台に行き昼食をとった。モンブラン山系で40年以上ガイドをしているというベテランガイドが不安そうな顔でレストランに来られた。近年は天候が目まぐるしく変わるし今年は特に変化が大きくて天候が読めない。そして場合によっては途中でハイキングを中止することを了解して頂きたいという。御神酒の効果か幸運にもハイキングを開始してから徐々に雲が高くなりモンブラン山系が顔を出し始めた。

It seemed that rain was the weather, which could come anytime in the morning. TV reported both the massive flood broke out at the north part of border between France and Swiss and a forest fire in the southern part of France in the morning. They went to Le Brevent and waited for the today’s guide taking lunch. An expert guide who would guide us came over with a worried face and said the following things; “In late years weather turns busy, and a change is big in this year, so weather is not readable. I want you to consent to cancel hiking on the way in some cases”. It was an effect of the sacred beer; a cloud gradually rose after starting of hiking. Mont Blanc mountain range had begun to come.

＜スイスハイキング　8＞ 　ツェルマットからシャモニーまで車に揺られ、シャモニーからロープウェイでエギューユ・デュ・ミディに登った。ここからは嫋やかなモンブラン（4810m）が遠望できる展望台として有名である。

展望台は雨、雹そして雪と目まぐるしく変化した. The weather changed with rain, hail and snow quickly in the observatory.

ホテルのテラスから−午後ホテルに戻る頃には晴天となる。手前の山の稜線から頭を覗かせているのがモンブラン、その右隣の大きな山がドーム・デュ・グーテ (4303m)、その隣の山頂が雲に覆われている山がエギューユ・デュ・グーテ (3817m)。The mountain range, which is seen from the terrace of the hotel. From the left to the right; Mt. Mont-Blanc, Mt. Dome du Gouter (4303m), and Mt. Aiguille du Gouter (3817m).

夕食時に明日の天候を願って御神酒としてモンブランビールを飲む。 Drinking Mont-Blanc beer in hope of the tomorrow's weather at dinner.

レストランを出るとエギューユ・デュ・ミディ展望台の灯り、モンブラン、ドーム・デュ・グーテ、エギューユ・デュ・グーテが見えた。御神酒の効果が早現れたかと主人は思った。 They saw the light of the Aiguille de Midi, Mt. Mont-Blanc, Mt. Dome du Gouter, and Mt. Aiguille du Gouter.

They moved by a bus from Zermatt to Chamonix, and then climbed Aiguille de Midi by a ropeway. Aiguille de Midi is famous as the observatory; from there peoples can see Mt. Mont-Blanc (4,810m) in front.

＜スイスハイキング7＞ 　ブラウヘルドからシュテリー湖(2537m)、グリンジー湖(2334m)で逆さマッターホルンを眺望しスネガ展望台までハイキングした。途中でエーデルワイスとマッターホルンを写真に撮れたことにご満悦の主人を想像することは容易である。ハイキング中は晴天であったが角かくしのように白雲がマッターホルンの山頂を覆われていた。

They hiked from Blauherd to Sunnegga Lookout viewing the inverse Matterhorn at Stellisee (2537m) and Grindjisee (2334m). It is easy for you to imagine my master who was delighted with having been able to take Edelweiss and the Matterhorn to one photograph on the way. It was fine weather, but the summit of Matterhorn was covered with white cloud like a “Tsunokakushi”. (Tsunokakushi: a hood worn by brides as part of a traditional wedding costume in Japan)

＜スイスハイキング6＞ 　5:30amにカメラザックを担いでマッターホルン（4478m）が見える橋まで急ぐ。狭い橋は既に20-30人でごった返しの様相であった。主人達は橋の端になんとか三脚を立てることが出来た。日の出前はマッターホルンの山頂がくっきりと見えていたがマッターホルンの右手の雲の動きに主人はモルゲンロートは見られないだろうと思ったようだ。案の定ご来光の頃マッターホルンはすっぽりと雲に覆われた。橋の上には100人以上の旅行客が集まっていたがこの光景に橋を離れて行った。主人達は粘った。一瞬だがマッターホルンの微笑みを見た。

My musters walked hastily from the hotel to the bridge from where Matterhorn (4478m) was seen. Many people more than 30 had already gathered in the small bridge at 5:30 a.m. They were able to set up tripods in the edge of bridge somehow. Before the sunrise, they were able to see the summit of Matterhorn clearly, but he seemed to think that “Morgenrot” would not be seen judging the fast movement of the cloud at the right hand of the Matterhorn. As imagined, the summit of Matterhorn was covered completely with clouds. Travelers more than 100 gathered on the bridge at 6:00am, but left the bridge for this scene. Waiting more for 15 minutes, the Matterhorn smiled for an instance.

＜スイスハイキング5＞ 　昨日の雨は上がったが黒雲がグリンデルワルトの町を覆っていた。アルプス越えの絶景ルートと言われるスステン峠、グリムゼル峠を越えてフィーシュに行きそこから全長約23kmのアレッチ氷河の全景を見るためにエッギスホルンに登った。一日中曇りであったが雨にならなかっただけ幸運と思ったようだ。

The yesterday's rain stopped, but black clouds covered Grindelwald. They went to Valais via Grimsel Pass and Grimsel Pass. This route is said to be one of the Alpine superb view routes. From Valais they climbed up Eggisuhorun to watch whole view of the Aletsch Gletscher, which is approximately 23km in total length. It was cloudy all day, but it did not rain. So, my masters seemed to think that it was lucky.

＜スイスハイキング4＞ ユングフラウヨッホとアイガー北壁眺望ハイキング 　朝食前にカメラを持ち出してアイガー北壁を撮影に出かけた我猫ジローの主人達は北壁にかかる雲とその動きにハイキング中天気が持つか不安を抱いたようだ。 　1912年に全面開通したユングフラウ鉄道でユングフラウヨッホ駅に行き、そこから標高3571mにあるスフィンクス展望台まで高速エレベーターに乗った。幸運にも展望台に着く頃には晴れ渡り、屋外バルコニーから西にユングフラウ、東にメンヒ、南にアレッチ氷河を眺望出来大満足の主人達だった。 　午後はアイガーグレッチャーからクライネ・シャイデックまでハイキングをした。北アルプスと同じように午後になると雲が厚くなり、今にも降りそうな雲行きになったためクライネ・シャイデック駅で一服した。コーヒーを待つ間に雷雨となった。ちょうど到着した登山列車に乗り込んだ。列車の窓越しに景色が見られないほどの雨は激しくなり雷鳴も数回聞いたという。

Jungfraujoch and Eiger North Face view hiking

Before breakfast, they had a camera to take the Eiger northern face. Because the movement of a black cloud was fast, my master seemed to have uneasiness for hiking weather.
They went to the Jungfraujoch station by the railroad, which inaugurated entirely in 1912, and then got on a high speed elevator from there to Sphinx observatory(3571m). Fortunately when they arrived at the observatory, it was clear up. So, they were excited very much to see Mt. Jungfrau, Mt. Mönch and the Aletsch glacier from the outdoor balcony of Sphinx observatory. and were main people of the great satisfaction.
They hiked in the afternoon from Eiger Glacier to Kleine Scheidegg. A cloud gradually became thick and it seemed to rain. They had a short rest at Kleine Station. During waiting for coffee, it became a thunderstorm.

＜スイスハイキング3＞ ベルン 　ルツェルンからさらにグリンデルワルトに向かう途中でベルンに立ち寄った。ベルンの旧市街はユネスコ世界遺産に登録されている美しい街である。 　ベルンの大聖堂はスイス一の高さを誇る尖塔をもつ。正面入り口上部の“最後の審判”（1495年）が有名であるが我猫ジローの主人は門柱の彫像の方が素晴らしいと感じたようだ。アインシュタインが生活したアパートメントの続きにアイスクリーム屋があった。甘い甘いアイスクリームを楽しんだという。アーレ川では川の流れに身を任すスイマーを見た。 　グリンデルワルトに着く前にインターラーケンの街並み、アイガー、メンヒ、ユングフラウの３名山が遠望出来るというハーダー・クルム展望台で夕食を食べた。残念なことに３山は雲の中であった。

My, Nekojiro’s masters, dropped in at Bern before visiting Grindelwald. Old city of Bern is a beautiful town registered with UNESCO world heritage. The Bern Cathedral has a spire proud of Switzerland's best height. "Judgment" (1495) of the upper part of the front gate was famous, but my master seemed to feel that the statues of the gatepost were more splendid. The continuance of the apartment where Einstein lived included an ice cream shop. They enjoyed sweet sweet ice cream. They watched the swimmers who left the position to the flow of the Aare River.
They had dinner at the Harder Kulm in Interlaken. If the weather was fine, they could see the cityscape of Interlaken, Eiger (3970m), Mönch (4107m) and Jungfrau (4158m). Unfortunately, these three peaks were in a cloud.

＜スイスハイキング２＞ ルツェルン 　ルツェルンではカペル橋、シュプロイヤー橋、ライオン記念碑をみてからレストランでスイス料理を楽しんだ。 　カペル橋は14世紀前半に建造された全長204mの木橋で美しく花で飾られていた。左奥にはリギ山Rigiが見えた。 　カペル橋から15分程歩くとカペル橋よりやや小さな屋根が付いた全長80mのシュプロイヤー橋Spreuerbrückeに着く。カペル橋は東京の地下鉄並みの混雑であったがこちらは観光客がまだらでゆっくりと1400年代の景観を楽しむことが出来たようだ。橋には礼拝堂があり、屋根にはカペル橋と同様に三角形の板絵が掛かっていた。こちらの人は骸骨が好きなようだ。 　ライオン記念碑はルイ16世に忠誠を誓い戦死した786人のスイス傭兵の慰霊碑という。 　至る所で面白い飾り付けされた噴水を見ることが出来た。

Lucerne My masters enjoyed a Swiss dish at a restaurant after they watched Löwendenkmal (Lion Monument), Kapellbrücke (Cappelle Bridge) and Spreuerbrücke (Spreuer Bridge) in Lucerne. The Cappelle Bridge is a tree of 204m in total length bridge constructed in the early 14th century. It is decorated with many beautiful flowers. They are able to see Mt. Rigi behind bridge in the left side. Approximately 15 minutes walk from the Cappelle Bridge, they arrived at the Spreuerb Bridge, which is a 80m in total length with the small roof like the Cappelle Bridge. The Cappelle Bridge was congestion with tavellers at the same level as the subway in Tokyo, but tourists were spotted in the Spreuerb Bridge. So, they enjoyed a scene of the 1400s. There was a chapel in the center of bridge, and many triangular pictures on the board hung on the roof like Cappelle Bridge. These local people seems to like skeletons.

＜スイスハイキング１＞

　我猫ジローの主人達は相変わらず慌ただしく過ごしている。８月初旬に10日間のスイスハイキングを楽しみ帰国後はお盆の行事、そして名古屋・岡山に出かける用事が続いた。さらに、東京に“縄文−1万年の美の鼓動−（東京国立博物館）”、“ミケランジェロと理想の身体（国立西洋美術館）”、“没後50年　藤田嗣治展（東京都美術館）”を鑑賞に行った。奥さんの友達からブログが更新されていないがと主人の安否確認のメールが入った。 　今日はハイキング前に訪れたバーゼル、ルツェルン、ベルン、グリンデルワルトの街並みの写真をアップする準備をしている。 バーゼル 　中部国際空港からチャーター直行便でスイスのバーゼルまで12時間のフライトで午後遅く到着した。カメラを片手にブラブラとホテル周辺を散策した。レストランとキヨスクが開いているだけで店という店が閉まっていた。もちろんマーケットも。ガイドさんによれば土日は午後５時以降ほとんどの店が閉じるという。主人はそれでも経済活動に問題がないなら日本も見習うべきだと思ったようだ。翌日の午前中に大聖堂、マルクト広場、旧市街を散策しルツェルンに向かった。

My, Neko-jiro’s, masters feel as busy as usual, especially in August and this month. They enjoyed 10-day hiking in Switzerland in the beginning of August, and the event of obon festival and business to go out in Nagoya, Okayama continued after return home from their fun trip. Furthermore, they visited several museums for appreciateon in Tokyo. One of his wife’s friends sent an e-mail, “There is not update of Jiro’s blog. How is your hasband?”. My master gets ready to upload photographs of the cityscape of Basel, Lucerne, Bern and Grindelwald where they visited before their hiking, today. Basel They arrived by a 12-hour flight using a chartered direct flight late in the afternoon to Basel of Switzerland from Central Japan International Airport. And then they took a walk around the Hotel aimlessly, having a camera. Restaurants and kiosks were opening, however all shops and markets were closed. It is said that most shops are closed after 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. My master thought, “We should introduce this system in Japan if our economic activities do not have problems”. The next morning, they visited the old city area, and then went to Lucerne.
