アルプスに春

　枕草子に“春はあけぼの。やうやう白くなりゆく山際、少し明かりて、紫だちたる雲の細くたなびきたる”とある。もし、清少納言が朝焼けの信州の山々を望み見たとすれば“春はあけぼの。やうやう紫だちたる山際”と著したのではないだろうか。春のモルゲンロートは厳冬期の紅色からピンクがかった薄紅色になり、山際は紫だつ。この紫は木々の芽吹きよるものだろう。

The Nippon Alps in spring
“In spring it is the dawn that is most beautiful. As the light creeps over the hills, their outlines are dyed a faint red and wisps of purplish cloud trail over them.” (Translated by Ivan Morris). If Seashore Nagging had a chance to see the Nippon Alps in spring, she would write as follow, “In spring it is the dawn that is most beautiful. As the light creeps, the mountains are turning purple”. In the cold winter period, the mountains are dyed red in the early morning. The top of mountains are dyed a light pink color and their hillsides are turning purple in the spring. The purple would depend on putting forth buds of trees.
