三九郎
正月飾りやダルマ、書初めなどを焼いて無病息災を願う行事は全国的にあるが、「三九郎」と呼ぶのは、長野県の中信地方だけのようだ。我が主人は地区の役員の一人として三九郎作りに参加した。子供達は残り火でまゆ玉(*)を焼いた。（1/14）
Sankuro
For praying of good health, there is an event to burn decorations, Dharma and the calligraphy practice at the beginning of New Year in Japan. This event is called "Sankuro" in the Chubu region of Nagano. Jiro’s master participated in the making of “Sankuro” as a district officer. Children roasted Mayudama (*) over the embers. (Jan.14)
*まゆ玉とはお正月の餅飾りのことで、地方によっては餅花とかだんごさしと呼ぶ。
*: Mayudama is one of the rice cake decorations of New Year holidays. Mayudama is called “Mochi-bana” or “Dango-sashi”.
