＜スイスハイキング6＞ 　5:30amにカメラザックを担いでマッターホルン（4478m）が見える橋まで急ぐ。狭い橋は既に20-30人でごった返しの様相であった。主人達は橋の端になんとか三脚を立てることが出来た。日の出前はマッターホルンの山頂がくっきりと見えていたがマッターホルンの右手の雲の動きに主人はモルゲンロートは見られないだろうと思ったようだ。案の定ご来光の頃マッターホルンはすっぽりと雲に覆われた。橋の上には100人以上の旅行客が集まっていたがこの光景に橋を離れて行った。主人達は粘った。一瞬だがマッターホルンの微笑みを見た。

My musters walked hastily from the hotel to the bridge from where Matterhorn (4478m) was seen. Many people more than 30 had already gathered in the small bridge at 5:30 a.m. They were able to set up tripods in the edge of bridge somehow. Before the sunrise, they were able to see the summit of Matterhorn clearly, but he seemed to think that “Morgenrot” would not be seen judging the fast movement of the cloud at the right hand of the Matterhorn.
