The Northern Alps seen from the window of the jet were veiled somehow, but Sapporo was clear so as to be comfortable. Jiro’s master went to visit the meeting place at the first, but his feet carried him to the art museum close to the meeting place once when he finished acceptance. And then he took a walk through a very large garden of Hokkaido University. He enjoyed many flowers, which he was not able to see in his country “Shinshu” or to see only in the Japan-Alps.
ジェット機の窓からみえる北アルプスは何となく霞んでいたが、札幌は気持ちいいほどに晴れ渡っていた。一旦は会場に足を運んだ主人だが、受付を済ませると自然と足は会場近くの美術館に向かい、その後北海道大学の広大な植物園を散策したという。信州ではお目にかかれない花や、アルプスでしか見ることが出来ない花を楽しんだようだ。

北海道−２ 小樽（プチルーツ探索）
結婚式を終えて小樽に向かった。我猫ジローの主人の母方の祖父は小樽で第二次世界中から終戦まで商いをしていたと言う。今は亡き母が小樽で過ごした時の話を空言のように聞いていた主人だが、年をとったのか、ふとその家を訪ねてみたくなりホテルから横浜の叔母に連絡をとった。“私は幼少の頃に小樽を離れたので記憶にないが、あなたのお母さんと30年ほど前に小樽に行った時にここがその家よ言われたところは駅の山手のXX町の警察署の北側だったよ。”と言われた。この情報だけで家を探し叔母さんに写メールしたところ“そうそうその家よ。よく探したわね”と言われた。今何方が住んでおられるかは分からないが、かつては母が一時的にも住んだ所だと思うと懐かしさを感じた様だ。

Nekojiro’s master went to Hokkaido successively in a wedding ceremony of their nephew and in a congress for two weeks. Before attending at the wedding ceremony, he made a plan to take a trip to both Daisetsuzan and Biei with his wife, and also made a plan to go around Otaru after the wedding ceremony.
They saw the Northern Alps clearly, as if it let them expect the good trip of the good omen, from the window of the jet toward New Chitose Airport. But, according to the weather forecast, Hokkaido would be a cloudy sky and rain for the next three days. It became surely likely to rain from the afternoon when they arrived at Hokkaido. The next morning my master saw the roads’ surface in the Asahikawa city got wet with rain, he seemed to be depressed. They considered it where they would go and spend a whole day while having slow breakfast. Daisetsuzan in rain. His wife said, “let go to the Sumio Goto Museum". Fortunately the rain stopped so as to drive, and a cloud became thin. When they arrived at the art museum, it was fine weather. They enjoyed Japanese paintings and had an excellent French at the restaurant of the juxtaposition.
我猫ジローの主人は甥の結婚式と学会で２週続けて北海道に出かけた。
結婚式の前に奥さんと大雪山、美瑛を旅してから結婚式に出席し、更にその後小樽を回る計画を立てた。
新千歳空港に向かうジェット機の窓からは幸先の良い旅を予期させるかのように北アルプスがくっきりと見えた。だが天気予報によると北海道は今後三日間曇天と雨という。確かに北海道に着いた午後から雨模様となり、翌朝旭川市街の路面が雨で濡れているのを見た時には気が滅入った様だ。主人達は遅い朝食をとりながら何処に行こうか思案した。大雪山は雨の中。奥さんが雨なら“後藤純男美術館”に行こうと言う。曇天の中美術館に向かう。有り難いことに走るほどに雲が薄くなり、美術館に着く頃には日が差し始めた。美術館の前はアスパラガス畑が広がり、裏手には青々とした麦畑のうねりが地平線まで続いていた。日本画を楽しみ、併設のレストランで地元の食材を使ったフレンチに舌鼓を打った。
翌日は霧の中十勝岳の麓をドライブし“青い池”を見に言った。耕作が始まったばかりの美瑛も訪れたという。
